Gouda - Captain of Globetrotters; Tom Batenburg has won the race Stroopwafel Wedstrijd. As Tom is origianally from Schiedam, a place near Gouda where the race strated, he rode a home race.
Most of his childhood friends, parents and his older brother were supporting for him along the course, "I'm very proud I could show my family and friends my skills," Tom said smiling. "The Kamphuysen trophy will get a very special place at home. Unlike other trophies I've won, they're all stacked in a box in the attic."
Team manager Bjarne pointed out his young rider Henrik Syversen, who came 8th in the race. "He is become more and more a great rider. In the future he will hopefully develop to be a great cobblestone rider. I hope he will oneday be the successor of our teamleader Tom,"
